i did my first track workout of the season tonight. i was supposed to do one last week but it was raining really hard and i was tired and waaah waah waaaah. i just didn't do it and i just didn't do anything that day.
so today i was working really hard on coming up with an excuse to not do the track workout again.
this week has been tough. we had 10, yes, 10 house guests, 7 of whom were kids. that puts us at 9 kids in the house and 5 adults. everyone showed up monday night but i still got up on tuesday morning at 5 to get my ride in and then even got up wednesday morning at 5 to swim. wednesday afternoon when we ran, we saw two bald eagles and some other huge monster brown bird. i was really tired. that run was supposed to be an easy 45. we were doing 10 minutes miles and i was dying. i was really worried about the track workout the next day.
(see the scars from my crash in maui? and the scar from when i was surgeried upon?)
work was work, i was tired. i went to the drs only for that to be non-conclusive. i came home and did work until the work day was over. then all the kids came home and woke me up. i used that as the kick in the pants to get out the door.
the warm up was good and then it was to do 4x1200s at specific paces. and omg - i was able to hold the paces! i was shocked! and i wasn't dying! there were times when i wasn't sure i was going to get through them but then it would be a rest lap and i would be all recovered and ready to go. turns out this workout was just what i needed. i felt so much better when i was done and it totally helped my confidence. hooray! :)
now i just need to drop the thousand pounds i've gained recently. oh but not sure how that big bowl of ice cream i just had is going to help me with that....
(looking like a man. seamus said she is going to have a costume party for her next birthday and has asked that i pick a costume that makes me look not so much like a man)
poor pawpi. her face is still all messed up. she went back to the vets today and they put on a cone. they should have done that the first time she was there, we don't know why they didn't but after continuing to drop her face juices all over the house for over a month, now they finally did it. she's on the antibiotics again and her cheek is full of scar tissue. she seems like her old self, just with a cone.
