the bus the bus we must increase the bus

today i became overwhelmed with emotion at my new job and almost shed a tear. we were reviewing some of the new ads that we will be running and they were just so damn cool. i get a little teary just thinking about them.

other news. i ran to work today. okok, not the whole way, but to the bus stop, then i got on the bus and then i got off the bus and then ran to work. shower and repeat. its hard to say if it is any quicker. going into work its not. the whole process took 2 hours this morning, but that includes waking up, dressing, running to the bus stop, missing the bus by 2 minutes, waiting 13 minutes for the next bus, riding the bus, getting off the bus and running to work (i discovered there are 3 BBQs at our office building) shower and get to my desk ready to work at 8, actually 3 minutes before.

the way home only took 1 hour and 1/2 but there was no showering. i do think that the time spent in the vehicle was much less then if i had driven since there was lots of carpool lane action. the real test will be tomorrow when i drive. i might wind up with this bus thing more often, but opt for the bike ride on off days. i am kind of pooped right now.

new photo action:
sirus going night night with his monster.

seamus jumping from the stairs! she doesn't do this as often as she used to.

she is so awesome!

sirus channeling darth vader, again.

seamus shows off her drawing.

poltergeists? maybe, but i think it was seamus. she even made it so the door could oepn and not knock any down.

seamus picked out her outfit.

i do not want to go here

good gawd! what are these people thinking. just looking at these photos makes the anxety juices start to flow:

day two of the new job was good. and the commute was fine, too.
i have an office! and i have a window with two big ever green trees right out the window. i don't quite know what i am looking at other then those trees but its nice. i like it! and i just got a big file cabinet. and i picked out a chair. i have a total kick arse monitor for my computer! its so big and i can see so much! one of the best things that happened today was that i was on a webex presentation with another company while they were giving a demo of a product. one of the other people on the call kept putting us all on hold and their hold music kept coming on. every single time the presenter got totally annoyed, gave a big sigh and you could practically see the steam coming out of the phone from him being so mad. made me laugh every time. i was on mute tho. its been pretty fun and i think i am starting to get the hang of it. hooray!

grocery store circulars

so, as i was standing at the kitchen counter with one spoon digging into the peanut butter and with the other spoon digging into the hotfudge jar and then mixing them into total bliss on their way to my hips, thighs and ass, i was looking through the circulars that came in the mail today.

now, don't get me wrong. i love some good meat, but i don't know how i feel about the 3 day meat & seafood sale at albertsons. what does that mean?

then when flipping through to QFC, the top of their ad next to their logo it says "are you ready? Earthquakes, Eruptions, Tsunamis, Storms" right below it is a nice big photo fo some certified angus beef rib eye steaks and some Tim's Cascae potato chips. i guess they are trying to tell me is that when that tsunami hits in lake sammamish like i know it will, i will be sorry if i don't stock up on some meat and chips.

won't they be sorry when i go get my meat from albertson's 3 day meat sale instead?

safeway has them all beat though. they are currently having a million pound pork sale in case you are looking for a few thousand tons of pork.

i love it.

sizes are so screwed

so, ya know how they talk about how today's size 4 is really the old size 8 or something of that sort? its totally true and not only that, jeans that are suposed sized by waist measurement in inches are going along that same way of fake-ness.

back in my supermodel days i wore a size 8. sometimes i would fit into a size 6 but normally it was a size 8. that was back when i was 5'10" and 119 with no womanly attributes. now that i am only 5'9" and very much not 119 i consistently git in a 6 and occasionally a size 4. since i am a slave to numbers, i will always buy anything that says 4 in it. even if it is totally butt. i do not have this same approach with shoes. i will only buy a pair of shoes that doesn't fit if they are totally awesome.

so, how do i know that jeans are going down this same road of fakeness which i am more then happy to go down with them? yesterday i went shopping and tried on a pair of 7 jeans. i took a pair in a rediculous size because i feel that my jeans should be so damn tight that the pain that is inflicted due to wearing them offsets the pain in my feet from wearing shoes too small or with heels to high. anyway, the size that was rediculous fit reasonably well and if they stretched would be acceptable so i was able to go a size smaller to hit the desired pain threshold. these will be stand up jeans only since sitting will be an unavailable option - hense the ability to wear painful shoes at the same time.

turbo nerd

yes, that is me and here i will tell you why.
so, i have'nt been very good about getting out and running. this is bad. couple that with the 930pm pizza hut pizzas, ice cream and chips, its all hanging out. its not pretty.
last weekend i managed to run two days in a row only to wind up breaking that streak when i took sirus to the er and then wound up sick on my own.
so, yesterday y i ran on the treadmill. nothing was on tv and usually i do'nt like watching movies out there but i put in lord of the rings, the fellowship of the ring because it was out there. i was totally getting into the movie, which was embarrassing enough, .but i was at the point when sam and frodo were leaving the shire and heading through the corn fields. mary and the hobbit that is now on lost jumped out, scared sam and frodo and i practically fell off the treadmill. it totally startled me. not cool.
so once i regained my composure i kept on running. now here is the really nerdish part. frodo got sgtabbed by one of those scary people and they were headed to riverdal where the elves live. liv tyler as an elf makes me want to be an elf, too. i never found her to be very interesting before but this time i was in total awe. when i told eric, he said i was already on my way since i had my elvish shoes. but then he corrected himself saying oh, that yeah, i only have shoes that were made by elves not for elves. i see myself being sucked into this D&D world of utter nerdom but the movie is really good. i don't know if it is because i am running and so there is a sence of urency although it does seem that i run towards the bad guys while they are running away from them. the best part about it tho is if you have ever seen Clerks 2. Randall gives a very good interpretation of the lord of the rings movies while trying to explain to elias (don't even get me started on mr pillow pants) and Marshall Flinkman from Alias, that starwars is much better. he is totally dead on and winds up making the hobbit lover, that is his character's name, throw up.
the poor kids. they are so sick! they have been coughing, snotting and fevering all weekend. today seamus cried and cried for no real reason. she didn't throw a tantrum, she just cried and cried is all. its so sad.
i am on vacation all this week. i have lots of stuff planned. taxes, hair, meetings (!), work (!!), and lots of drinking., i mean relaxing.

Tuesday, February 20, 2007

drunk on a tuesday

so we no longer share cable. we are official cable subscribers. i do not know how i feel about that. i do know that we watched the original star wars in high def surround sound while putting down the margaritas. lots of them. i was not fooling around this time, i got the big bottle of the tequila, the BIG one. B-I-G tequilla.
what else has been going on? other then the major break down this weekend, the bike swap and the several hours of uninteruppted shopping in which the pre-pubescent kid at gamestop tried to have a total power trip when telling me all about how they are under contractual obligation to keep the ps3 boxes in the window when they indeed do not have any in stock. come on, don't give me an attitude. whatever.

beach nurse

so. i have quit my job and it has been announced. i am so excited about my new opportunity. i cannot say any more about it at this time.

what i can say is that this morning at 4am sirus woke up crying. this is nothing new except i went to him and he was just unconsolable. i picked him up even and he just cried and cried. i tried to give him a bottle and he pushed it away and cried, so we sat in his rocking chair and he started to settle down but then the real problem became apparant, he couldn't breathe. he was huffing and puffing and working really hard to breathe. i took him into our room and woke up eric. i called the doctor, talked to them and they asked to talk to sirus on the phone. i handed him the phone. he talked for a little bit, i took it back and the doctor said she wasn't done and she wanted to talk to him some more. i thought this was all very funny until they said to take him to the emergency room right away.

so eric helped pack him up and i took him in. the first triage nurse was not very friendly and i almost expected him to send us home. we then saw another triage nurse who checked us in and she loved sirus, although she called him simus. next hing ya know we were back in a room. the first nurse we saw in the room was a nice guy names steve. kind of reminded me a little bit like a combination of some ppl i know. sirus got a nekkid weigh in then got his temperature taken in a way he hadn't ever had it done before. next came the breathing treatment. we started with me trying to do it but sirus is too wiggly and too strong. so the nurse took him, held him tight and held the little mask on the poor little guy. he cried and cried but after it was done he hugged me and started to doze off. but of course then i had to poke the bear. i changed the little guy's diaper. no more sleepy time. a few hours passed and steve's shift was over so he stopped in to say goodbye. new nurse josh came in. he was nice but seemed a little funny with sirus. we started another breathing treatment, but he did it a different way. he made a little tube that misted the stuff out right at sirus and josh held it up near sirus's face whle we distracted him with fun things to look at and play with. there was no crying this time. the steve guy wasn't being mean in his way he just maybe didn't know there might be an easier way.
so, sirus loved the stethescope. he played with it and put it against his chest and was having all kinds of fun. then he took it and wrapped it around his shoulders the way the doctors and nurses do. josh told him he looked just like a nurse now, "you look just like me!" but then there was an awkward pause because i ws thinking something but didn't want to say it, but then the nurse said it "well, i guess i wear a shirt when i come to work" that is when the nurse suggested that sirus could be a beach nurse. when i told eric this he said, ya mean, like a life guard.
then off to get some chest xrays. poor little guy did an awesome job! i put on the lead thing and sirus sat on a table and they put a little lead sheild over his little parts. i would have never thought of that. but that is why i'm not an xray person. tey took a front and a side and they showed them to me on the screen. so cute! he has all those ribs and a tiny collar bone! nurseman josh stopped in to say he was going home. sirus was walking around the room and i ws calling eric to give the scoop. then sirus pulled the emergency call alarm thing. the door flew open with people flying in, the intercom started talking to us and i just stood there while sirus was messing around under the table. oops.
finally the doctor came in, commented on sirus walking around then said he was fine, go home. huh? a new nurse came in to discharge us and i told her what the doctor said. i told her that i didn't really thing he was alright. she listened and said, that i was right that his lungs were raspy, something all the other nurses said too. so she went and got the doctor and told him what was up. sirus got an inhaler. when josh was his nurse he brought a funny little stars and stripes beenie baby bear for sirus. sirus loved it but i thot it was kind of weird because i thought it was mystery lost and found/ER comunal kid toy and i was suprised they would be doing that. sirus loved it so i was like whatever. when we were checking out i told the nurse that the bear wasn't ours and that the other nurse gave it to us. she said that a radio station donated hundreds of them so it was his too keep. i was quite releived. then we went home. 2 seconds in the car and he was passed out.
eric picked up the perscrption, the pharmacist told eric that sirus would have to take a deep breathe and hold it. yeah, you get a 1 yr old to do that. we have a thing to get it to work.
as a result of all of this combined with the terrible weather back east we have cancelled our trip.
and i am sick, too. not sure whats wrong with me but that white thing on my tonsil, my aching lower back and all of my organs feeling terrible are an indication that i totally deserved those donuts and ice cream today.

new obsessions, addictions and sheer exhaution

dude, i can't even spell it. i am tired. really really tired. but what else is knew? i have a new additiction to ambien, ok maybe it is just a dependence. i don't care what it is, all i kinow is it knocks me out. it is supposedly non addictive and i guess its not really an addiction if when you stop taking it you don't go through withdrawl and i don't neeeeeed it, instead i just don't sleep. various doctors have been trying to get me to take it for quite a few years and i wouldn't do it. but now, hell yes, i will take it. every damn night. sleep!! glorious sleep!

today was a big day. seamus had a friend come over this morning which was fun. 2 minutes into the play date eric called to say he had double flatted on his bike and had only one tube. too bad. he rode 15 miles home with that flat.

when he got home i took off. i didn't really know what to do so i went to the running store to get some shoes for eric. they were on sale. we can all see why. the color is called sunray. they didn't have my size otherwise i would have wound up with some, too.

after the shoes i went looking for a handbag. i found many that i liked but 0 that i could justify spending so much on. why are they so expensive? the thing that gets me is that the ones at bananarepublic cost as much as the ones at the coach store. does anyone else remember back in the late '80s when bananarepublic sold t-shirts with animals and pictures of the earth on them? i looked on wikipedia and i wasn't just making all of that up. remember the old logo and catalog:

i wound up with no handbag but i did get a bad arse pair of shoes (no heel even!) that resulted in the following conversation with eric when i showed them to him:

me - like my new shoes

him - yes, they are very elvish.

me - yes, i guess they do look elf-ish.

him - no, i said elvish as in made by elves not made for elves.

of course. what was i thinking. good lord it was a long day.

so then i tried to take a nap but it lasted like 2 minutes because sirus got up from his nap. i then started getting ready to take seamus to see the doodle bops. do you know what that is? poor sirus won't ever get to see the doodle bops live in concer because i will never go back.

more about that and seamus's bday some other time. the real reason i haven't shown anything from seamus's bday is that i erased all the cookies from the computer and can't figure out the passwords to flickr and hotmail so i can't access any of the photos i loaded....

things said today:

the gentle lovers were going by ti cyles today on my way back from u-village.

my eye socket is killing me. i think i've got a zit forming in it.

my sci-fi friends always liked dr who and i couldn't understand why

oh and yeah, i decided the ashton kutcher is really hot.

DOH!!! I've been tagged.

Lindsey tagged me. that means i have to tell you 5 things about me that you don't already know. i already used my super model card and then i answered those 45 questions, but here goes:

1) when i was little and would be laying in my room on my bed i would hear footsteps in my ears. i was convinced that these were from the people who wore blue and pink footie pajamas that lived under the big tree in the front yard. i think really maybe i was just hearing my heart beat but i don't know.

2) i have never gotten a speeding ticket. i haven't ever even been pulled over. i have been in my car when someone else was driving and they got pulled over and received a ticket but i never have.

3) one time i went to the mcdonald's drive through and got a sausage mcmuffin with egg and it was so damn tasty that i wanted another one. i was too embarrassed to go to the same mcdonalds drive through so i drove all the way accross town to the other mcdonalds and got another one.

4) i worked with jamie kern who was not only Miss Washington but also on the first season of big brother. also i went to jr high school with bryan chan who was on the first season of making the band and if i had a fan site, i would not any of these photos.
except maybe that one in the middle. ok, yeah maybe that last one, too because it is so freaking bad ass!

5) i have 7 piercings. doh!

ok ok ok, now i tag jen, allie, liz, dug and xtiesue. ha since i don't think ya'll get your blog on, you should leave it in the comments.

dodged that bullet

so, i am going to let you in on something that i don't think i have ever told any of my dearest friends, ever.

i almost dated howard stern.

let me explain. i was going through some papers that i found back from when i was modeling as a teenager. (that in itself most of the friends i have made after highschool don't know because its a little embarrassing and i do'nt want people wondering how i could have done that when i have such a giant zit on my chin and look so haggared all the time). i was chosen from suposedly thousands of girls to be in the elete look of the year competition, which is a pretty big deal and was pretty exciting but at the same time back then i really didn't have a good understanding of what it meant. even though i didn't win or wasn't even a finalist, i can kick myself up and down all over the place because of the letter i came accross today. it was from the elete agency in NY saying that even though i didn't advance in the competetion they wanted me to come to their offices to see them and get my modeling on. WHAT? why didn't i do that? what is wrong with me? did i never read that letter? i really do't remember ever seeing it, WTF!!!! i digress. anyway, also amonst the papers was the program from the competition that listed all of the girls names. there was bambi and heather and jodie and a handful of other girls, but then there was beth. i remember her being really pretty and she advanced in the competition but they wanted her to cut her hair and if i recall, she wasn't so into that so i don't know what happened with her. bambi advanced, too but they told her she had to get her giggly arse in shape....

well, let me tell you what happened to beth. like i said i was looking at the program, and i remembered her, but her name, it sounded so familiar but i just coulodn't figure it out so i googled her. so i found someone with the same name on IMDB and the photos looked similar to what i remember her looking like, she was about the right age, the right height and from pittsburgh pa. i dug out the tape from the competetion because we had to say our names, ages and where we were from. and hot damn it was her. same person. beth ostrosky. i told eric and the first thing out of his mouth was "wow, just imagine, if you had kept modeling you could have been dating Howard Stern, too" when i old my mom she said she was glad that i wsan't dating howard stern because she didn't think she would like him as a son in law.

i am so drunk

right now, ona friday night at 8:21. ok, not SOOOOO drunk but the thought of doing some data analysis right now cracks me up and makes me want to see what i would come up with. AND we are watching snakes on a plane.

today was a better then the previous days of the week. i still have no desire to run, i still have no desire to do anything but cry, and i still have a giant zit on my chin. it is so giant that when i went to get the tequila at the likker sto' the cashier guy stood there looking at me and couldn't decide whether to card me. i figure his thot process was as follows" this person looks over 30. yep, totally over 30 - she has on those cloggs, she has on that terrible company logo fleece jacket, she looks over 30, buuuuuut, that zit! she has that zit. might be under 21. gotta check." that is totally how it went.

now, eric is making me another drink, i am going to snack on some tostitos and i would do some crazy analysis but we are too damn cheap to pay for the office program and our free trail ran out so i am going to play some online family feud or something. i love it.

we just spent 5 minutes trying to determine where all the salt in my margarita is and eric ends that with "who puts a bunch of deadly snakes on a plane, anyways."

BIG NEWS, i can't beleive i almost forgot! so, seamus goes to gymnastics and totally loves it. at rhe end of the first session she completed in her evaluation her coach said she cold do everything very well and would be able to move up to the next level when she was 3. i of course knew this already because seamus is awesome. anyway this most recent session started and seamus has been having all kinds of fun. eric told me that in her class yesterday she was walking on the balance beam backwards, all by herself! at the end of class the coach stopped eric to talk about seamus's progress. apparently she is doing sooooo well, that when she turns 3 they want her to by pass the next level and go into their junior olympic development program. so of coures her whole life flashes in front of my eyes and sheis on her way to the olympics, the first 5'11" olympic gymmnast who is also an olympic swimmer, mtn biker, runner, super model cheerleader with phds from harvard, MIT, BU and UW, but, eric told the coach that yes, she can try it but if the group size and the program is too much then she will go back into one of the other groups. because we really do want her to keep having fun! i am really proud of her though. she is so sweet, so smart and absolutly amazing!

OH MY GAWD. can they really be serious with this movie??? what the hell. O)H MY GAWD again!!!! no wonder this movie totally sucked at the box office. snakes do not hang out in airplane toilets. it is only getting worse and worse. ok, so now it is less hokey, most people are bitten or dead and they are in survivial mode.

oh pawpi, what are we going to do!

football

Howland High School Football coach - Dick Angle

too small

so today is the day that i decided to only wear things that don't fit. i have one some jeans that are way too tight. i asked eric if they were ok and he just kind of looked at me and was like, well, if you are going to wear that jacket all day then yeah that should be ok. i paired them up with some shoes that TOTALLY don't fit. but they are from england and they have monkeys on them and how can my big old american feet with the messed up toes expect to fit nicely into english moneky shoes? but eric did say that the shoes at least off set some of the terribly too smallness of the jeans.
so my digestive system is totally screwed. that is one of the things i learned from the doctors. i kind of knew it but they confirmed it and they gave me some stuff to drink every day to make it better. it works and makes me feel better but ya know how when you feel terrible about everything else in your life you just stop doing the things that make you feel better, ya know, like taking the medicine that makes you better? anyway, this morning i was drinking it and seamus asked if it was juice. i said no, its medicine. it tastes like tang. did i ever mention the time i sent the email to th entire company with the subject line of "do you like tang?" i got in trouble for that one. i legitamitely had some orange flavored drink mix - tang to give away but they knew i had other intentions so i got in trouble. but it was only in response to when someone sent out an email about the moisture festival. COME ON. and just the other day someone sent out one about The Big Dump 2007 in regards to the snow. i wonder if they got in trouble. anyway. i took it today so maybe i will feel better. maybe i will get on the treadmill after work and go for a little jog- my leg is feeling better afterall, and maybe, just maybe i won't eat a gallon of icecream and 4 dozen cookies today either.

#2

eric and the kids came to visit me at work today. i needed the pick me up because i am depressed as all hell.
in the middle of the night last night eric shoved me off the bed, hit me and pulled my hair and pushed and pulled me all over the place. aparently he had a dream that seamus was about to fall off a cliff and he was reaching out to grab her. but he took it all out on me. he says he went back to sleep and he had the dream again. i on the otherhand had kept waking up bawling. i can't remember my dreams, i just know i was crying in them and just kept waking up crying. not a good night in our house.
so after the kids visited me apparently one of them, i won't say which because i don't want to embarrass anyone, pooed in the parking lot. that makes me laugh.
so i have been a mess at work. today i told my boss i was drinking vodka tonics at work. ok, so to give me a little credit, this was only after he asked me if i was smoking and i said no because i was in the office and that is not allowed. ok, so really i wasn't doing any of that. i was crying. AGAIN. that was a big sniffle.
so i had to go home and buy some jeans that are so damn tight they are pretty obscene. i have not gone running in forever and i had two servings of ice cream this evening. that is not much better then the 3 giant cookies with ice cream i had yesterday. ok, so if i eat the candy at work, it doesn't really count right? i told doug that the next time i see him i will be 400 pounds. his response to that was - hey, i saw you when you were pregnant and you weren't even close to that. he doubts i will hit 4-hundy.
i was at werk and totally bummed out and depressed and just a mess. i was telling one of my co-workers that i was hoping something good would happen soon because i could really go for some good news. tell me your good news people!! leave me some comments cuz i love comments and they make my day.

not a teenager anymo

so, i was in la as you know. i wore the fancy new shoes as i mentioned. once again i have been injured by my shoes.. ok, so when i was looking for the photo i read the description and found that they are 4" heels. while i am irritated that i am as injured as i am, at least i was injured by the 4-ers and not 1- or 2-ers. i push myself to the limits!! anyway, i can't walk. my left calf is totally screwed. on the right side. if i barely even touch it it totally kills. what a mess. i will be icing and taking it easy and not running for a bit. what a mess.
we did go for a family walk today tho. sirus got a haircut. seamus is going to be 3 in a few weeks and the pressure is on to try to figure out what kind of cake to make her.
eric ordered us a new couch for our family room. we didn't mean to find one we liked. we are content, although a little embarrassed, to keep the one we have now. ya know, the one covered in the blueberry waffle puke, the one where the cushions are upside down with the contrasting fabric facing upwards because the other side has holes. yeah, that one. but we happened up one we liked and it was a good price, now we just have to wait 7-10 weeks. that is longer then it takes to get a passport.

how come

when i go to the new stand at the airport there are 8 magazines about guns, most with HAND GUNs as either the title or major subject line? and one with knife, all with big fatty photos of guns and knives? seems strange to me.

if johnny were still alive

i am pretty sure i remember that way back a long time ago, johnny carson said something to the effect that he wouldn't ever get married again unless it snowed in the valley. well, i think that not too long after he said that it snowed in the valley and i am pretty sure he got married again. i may be making all of that up but for some reason it sounds familiar to me. i bring it up because, gosh darnit, i left the snow in seattle to come to LA and it snowed here today. not just in the valley but in malibu, too. i was looking for some sun and i got more snow.
and i packed a skirt to wear tomorrow with my fancy new shoes. do you realize i haven't worn a skirt to work since i was pregnant with sirus? remember that skirt i wore back then, the same one EVERY DAY. anyway, so now i will wear a skirt nad will freeze my arse off.

so i checked into the hotel today and went to get some dinner. while i was waiting for my to-go order i went to the bar and got a beer. a fat tire. they brought me a 22 ounce bottle. as a result of that, and the fact that they wouldn't let me take it with me, i ate my to go order in the bar. after that big bear i was energized so i went over to the gym, but only after watching some very funny seattle american idol auditions. they said they will never come to seattle again but i may have mentioned at some point that if i were to ever audition for american idol, that is if i was somehow not old anymore, i would sing cecilia by simon and garfunkel. that would be my song.

so tomorrow is eric and my 5 year anniversary! whoa! its gone by quick! but alas i will be in LA in the snow in my fancy new shoes and skirt freezing my arse off.

i found out that i am not a man, so that is good. i also found out that i have high cholesterol, but really its good because the bad cholesterol is really low and the good cholesterol is really high, so all in all it is good. yeah, i found all that out after i found out i shrank. i have still not recovered from that yet.
so i was ok with "benifer" when ben asslick and jlo were dating. i thot that was ok. what i do not like is brangelina, vaughniston, tomkat and i really do not like tomkitten. dumb. don't they know that is over used. when you have the news caster dude on the 11 o'clock news referring to brangelina, its just really really bad and dumb. please refer to me and eric as caric, or maybe errie, or maybe catwood and eatwood.

here are some babies in the snow photos, I like that seamus has on her sungalsses and that sirus was sweeping the snow. poor sirus has no mittens!!

yum - homemade blueberry waffles

not so yum - those same blueberry waffles being spewed out of an almost 3 year old all over the white carpeting.

who knew that her stomach could hold so much and who knew that the smell would be here to stay. the carpet is only a year old and still looks great, but today i suggested that maybe we swap it out for another type of puke resistant floor covering.

poor little girl though. sirus and i were making the bed in the other room and i heard this terrible noise. i headed out into the family room to see her runnning towards me, stop and spew some more. i took her in the bathroom and it just kept coming out. when it finally stopped she turned to me and cried "get it off of me!!!" it was scary and freaky and stinky. i cleaned her up and sat her down. i asked her if she put anything in her mouth and she said yes. i about died. i asked her what she put in there and she said waffles. i sighed and asked if she put anything else in there and she said no. 2 minutes later and she was bouncing on the bed as though nothing ever happened. i on the other hand spent the next 4 hours cleaning up puke and trying to get it out of the carpet. i got all of the blue color out but even now, 14 hours later - the smell! oh the terrible smell. eric even rented the carpet cleaner!! we are going to run it again tonight but ugh. i still have no idea why she puked and that concerns me.

so, would you like to come for a visit?

i take offense

just because some people think i am freakishly tall, and really i am not so tall anymore afterall, does NOT, i repeat, does NOT mean if you were to get me an article of clothing as a gift that you need to get me XXL. on that same vein, when referring to my height, say i am tall, not big. they are not the same.

ok, that was dramatic

i accidentally hit enter instead of tab and it posted!

ok, so i went to the doctor this morning and something that i had feared for a long time but wasn't ever sure of was confirmed. it turns out that i am only 5'9.25" and not the 5'10" that i have thought for so many years.

the nurse who checked my height said that i may have been 5'10" but now am shrinking but that is normal. that is depressing to me but i am not totally convinced that i was ever really 5'10". i just assumed i was because someone in highschool who said they were 5'8" said i was at least 2" taller then them.

they are checking my testosterone levels at the doctors to see if maybe that is the root of all of my issues. what is that supposed to mean!!

when i told eric he said that our whole relationship has been built on lies. and then i had to remind him that when we first started dating that he claimed to wear size 13 shoes... no pair of shoes that he has bought since we got together has been above a 12.

my world has just collapsed.

never never never

so i went and took a swimming lesson today. i haven't swam since september and i am totally pout of swimming shape. i have some work to do if i am going to be able to swim a mile in july.

i registered eric for the xterra world championships in october. we will be going to hawaii!! i am trying to plan it and thot i had it all figured out, including that the airplne tickets will be free because of frequent flyer miles, but then i realized we would be gone over halloween. i just don't think i can do that. the kids will only be little once and each year that passes they will be that much closer to not wanting to get dressed up and all of that. there are just so few years and even though i am sure whoever wound up watching them while we would be away would get them in their costumes and they would probably not even realize we weren't there, i just don't think i can miss it. i told eric and mentioned that we might wind up going sooner and leaving sooner after the race, his response was that he didn't think he wanted tojust hang out before the race for too long. we will not go to hawaii for the weekend. maybe i will go by myself and then he can some whenever. i am excited none the less.

AND i am working on finalizing all the toronto plans! how fun! its going to be crazy!!

swo, another reason why i won't ever get promoted... i was on the phone with my boss and i told him i wasn't feeling very well. he told me that i need to take better care of myself but i told him that i think it was beause i had been on vacation and then re-entered the big pool of germs that is the work place. that is a totally acceptable answer until i added, that maybe i should just stop licking the doorknobs. even that would have been ok if when he asked why i would do that i would have just told him it was an OCD thing or something (more on that some other time) but no, i had to tell them they were magically delicious. whatever. someone asked me what my new years resolutions were and i mentioned some goals and stuff, but really i think i should just shut up. and get a raise.

i took the kids shopping yesterday and it was SO MUCH FUN. yes, it took 45 minutes for us to just get out the door and into the car, but once we were off, it was great. seamus added a new element of fun to the whole trying stuff on -everytime we were all in the dressing room, right when i would say, have my shirt off, or maybe my pants or maybe both, she would open the door or the curtain and put me on display. between her and sirus and the totally awesome shoes and the 1/2 priced fruit cake from harry & david, it was a totally fun adventrue for us. now, if only i would have gotten that handbag....

dancing with lisa rinna's lips

so i took my mom to see the dancing with the stars tour when they stopped in at key arena dec 22. i went not really knowing what to expect, but since my mom is ballroom dancer extraordinare and she watched the show on tv i thot it would be fun to go see. the dancing was really pretty amazing. they put on a great show. while they had to focus some on the celebrities, they did a really good job of putting a lot of emphasis on the pro dancers, which was good because they were really good. the only really lame part about the show was lisa rinna and harry hamlin. laaaaame. i had fried chicken for dinner that night and it was damn tasty.

speaking of quotes, i used the best quote ever in a presentation that i gave to my boss. how bout that. he thinks i am crazy. i will never get a promotion. now come on, that quote and then that time at dinner where i drank the wine right from the bottle. dude. i am so screwed. but i am going back to LA 2nd week in january.

i have been off from work for the past 10 days and that is awesome. yes it is new years even and i am updating the blogger. there are two babies upstairs sleeping right now. i can't wait to welcome them to 2007 when we check on them tonight, that is if we manage to stay up past 12.

one of the best parts about taking a total of 11 days off for this vacation is that i am really only using one vacation day which totally rocks. they gave us the 22nd off, and then the 25th and as a bonus the 26th, and then the 29th and then tomorrow. and then for the two days where there were ppl in the office i am using a personal day, so only one vacation day.

good thing because i am going to blow a bunch of vacation in february! we are going to go to canada. and not just like vancouver 3 hrs away, no, like toronto, 6 hours of airplane time with a layover and passports and all of that. yeah, and it only cost $600 for all of us to get or renew passports. what a scam!!! but we will have them and they are funny. we will go to toronto, niagra falls, cleveland and columbus. we will fly and drive all over the place. we will drive right along lake erie in FEBRUARY. we are doing this instead of going to my cousin's wedding in anguilla. yes, we want to drive through the snow belt instead of sit on the beach.

xmas was fun. sirus was hilarious. when we got our xmas tree we brought it in the house and put the lights on while the kids were napping. when srus got up i had never seen him so exicted. i thot he was going to fall over. we went to eric's parent's in yakima for xmas and the kids got to play in the snow which was very fun. we took seamus to see happy feet which was the first movie she has seen since she has been mobile. we took her to see shrek 2, irobot and spiderman 2 when she was ittly bitty. she was totally amazed but the popcorn and the previews but 5 minutes into the actual movie she turned to me and said "ok, i want to go now". she wasn't scared, just done. she managed to make it though the whole thing with only 4 trips to the bathroom, one yelling at an particularly quiet time and sitting in instead of on the booster seat for about 1/2 the movie. not sure when we will go again.

here are some photos:

best quote ever

"it is possible to die from eating, but being professional means not dying." Takeru "The Tsunami" Kobayashi, world record holder for eating hotdogs, among other world records

now that is wisdom. maybe something was lost in translation? regardless its pretty great. i need to see how i can work that one into a presentation or something.

what have i done!

so, off in the mail today went $360 towards to entry fees for the Lake Stevens 70.3 Ironman in July 2007. Oh my goodness. that is 1.2 miles in the warter, 53 miles on the bike and 13.1 miles on the feet. i have a goal of less then 8 hours otherwise i will lose the $500 i am putting in the work betting pool revolving around athletic acheivments. the real one is that you are supposed to do a marathon in less then 6 but we worked the 70.3 in there.

big excitement for the weekend. holiday party on saturday and then gingerbread cookie decorating on sunday. we also have a gingerbread house to decorate which will be fun, too. maybe we will do that next weekend.

what else is going on i wonder?

welcome aboard

the other night i had a dream that i was at a friend's parent's holiday party. my friend wsa not there but kelsey grammar was.
the lame version of return of the jedi is on rifght now. why would they do that? why's he have to go and ruin it.
so the other weekend when i went to that wedding where i got toally hammered, while i was laying in bed the next day totally hung over and not able to move except to maybe transfer over to the bathroom floor, seamus came into the bedroom and said "oh, mommy, i'm so proud of you!" that is so funny. miss guided but funny.

i can't remember the weekend. i can't remember earlier this week. i do know that the kids have been sick and i haven't gotten much sleep and i haven't been exercising but i have been eating lots and lots, like about 3/4 of the 1 lb hershey's bar that eric brought home the other day. it was damn tasty.
big plans for the weekend? i think we are going to go to the tree farm and get an xmas tree. seamus was sooooooo excited when she woke up from her nap and i had put up the stockings and eric had put up the lights outside. i think seamus and i will build a ginger bread house this weekend, too.
dude, we have been watching high def tv lately. and all i can say is that those people on tv, yeah, everyone needs to get high def tv because it will make everyone feel so much better about themselves. the people on tv have jsut as bad skin as i do so that is encouraging.
oooh! james dean cut my hair the other evening. when i left i wasn't totally in love with it as i was last time. but i do have to say that i liked it quite a bit this morning but it is sort of like a fro.
eric is al bummed because while channel surfing he missed princess leia in her metal bikini in high def. a direct eric quote "in real life you wouldn't be able to strangle jabba the hut that way, you would have to be really strong"

big hugs

this is what the kids wear in the snow in seattle cuz they don't have snowpants but they do have rain boots. the neighbor girl came over to play in the snow, too and she was in the same basic thing.

this is my giant hair from the fashion show this weekend. when seamus saw the photos she went: "OOOH! Mommy! You look cuuuute!"

Oh! and that's our giant lcd tv back there, too.
And here is the back:

sirus learned to vacuum, and he is so good at it he can do it one handed! you can't see him though because he has on camoflauge. sirus also likes to push the doll stroller all around. eric sometimes wonders if he is being the proper role model for our boy. i think he is doing a great job!

seamus and sirus have both ben pretty sick, seamus with a fever al the way to 104.7! they seem to be getting better, but even when they are sick they still give each other big hugs.

inspired to post

jen has inspirec me to post. a lot has happened in the past month or so and i have lots of photos to get caught up on.

Halloween punk rockers at their best! Sirus's makeup didn't wash off for a few days. Should have thought that one through a little better.

Seamus ran the kids race at the Pumpkin Push. This was after she had already walked 2 of the 2.5 miles of the family fun walk. i like that she has a sponge bob square pants sticker in her hand.

Sirus did the faimly fun walk, too. he was carried or in the stroller for most of it, but he did get out to cross the finish line!

We went to pumkin patch! this was seamus's 3rd trip and sirus's 2nd!

seamus was particularly fond of the green and white pumpkins but i was impressed by how strong she is!

seamus and sirus were being silly and they hid under sirus's bed!

sirus loves his monster and this little plastic cup!

seamus picked her outfit out. she really like to wear pants under her dresses, but that is in right now, right?

babies in a box

i made this dress for seamus! it matches a skirt that i have!

sirus had some fun with a ballon at his bday party!
